Bowflex Review
Why Merlino Fitness Highly Recommends The Bowflex
I am sure you have seen the Bowflex infomercials replayed over and over
on televison and wondered if this home strength training system is really
that good. Don't sweat it! This home gym is far superior than any on the
market. I was a doubter also until I attended IDEA's (International Fitness
Professional Association) Personal Trainer Conference in New York City
in February of 2001. Bowflex had a booth at the hotel fitness expo and
was giving demostrations to personal trainers to show them why this machine
is the safest and most effective on the market today.
Here are just a few reasons why the Bowflex is so
good:
It is safe on the joints and biomechanically correct - You
do not need a spotter even when attempting to push or pull heavy resistance
loads. The machine is even safe for those that may have joint issues
like limited range of motion in the rotator cuff. Many injury rehabilitation
moves can also be performed on the Bowflex.
You can mimic almost any exercise performed on expensive commercial
grade equipment like Cybex or Hammer Strength - The Bowflex allows
you to work in varied planes regardless of your size or height to maximize
the efficiency of your workouts.
Increased load progression forces muscle to work harder through
the range of motion - Unlike many machines or free weights, the
Bowflex increases resistance through the range of motion. For example,
when doing a Lat pulldown the load gradually gets tough as the bar is
pulled towards the body which does not allow the muscle to rest during
the range of motion. This is a great way to build quality muscle mass.
You can easily transition between exercises and resistance - You
can easily switch out the pulleys to move between exercises. If you
are working out with a partner whose strength differs from yours it
is easy to reset the weight load.
Dual pulley action for strength symetry - Two cables force
the left and right sides of the body to work independently on many exercises.
For example on a chest fly each pectoral muscle has to work separately
so over time you get stronger where you body is weaker creating muscular
strength balance along the way.
A great backup system for missed gym workouts and busy people
- Let's face it, you can't make it to the gym every night and with the
Bowflex the gym is open when you want it to be. Keep your muscles fresh
and don't miss a beat.
